If anyone really doesn't want to phone the site, but would rather check on the website it is simply a matter of going to the rally search page and entering the dates and site name and clicking 'search' ! It really isn't rocket science.

Thanks FD... thats the first time a decent alternative method of finding out has been suggeated. It's only taken 15 pages to get there. I will in future use that method, or wring the site before booking. Cheers.

When you see the search facility on the web site, you may find that it is actually rather more difficult than rocket science to do the check......

Been there, done that, got the T shirt. Have even been assistant rally marshals on occasions. T'was many (20+) years ago when the children were at home. We lead a much quieter life now.Laughing

Seems like the answer is for anybody wanting to go to a particular site for a holiday, to wait until there is a rally advertised there, Then tell the appropriate Rally Centre that they want to attend the rally. --- Bingo :: Reduced fees! -- you are having your holiday and you don't have to take part in the rally if you don't want to.

Seems a lot of faffing around just to save a couple of quid a night though, even for a canny Scotsman such as yourself, K!

Write your comments here...Nothing to do with saving money M. Just the principle,   In the equality claimed by the CC, there are allegedly some more equal than others. Even the CC head office are reluctant to specify who that might be. I wonder why !!!

I am all for transparent equality.  Most mature intelligent right thinking people would be.

Agree with that. Just about the last thing that occurs to me on a holiday of any description is how much other folk have paid! Life's too short! Happy

Well, like you, I don't choose to join rallies, K, but since I believe any member
can choose to if they wish there's no basis for that claim really.

Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Write your comments here...You are mistaken M . I have rallied quite extensively and had great fun on most.

I only attended rallies when they were held on proper rally fields and the social  entertainment took place on that said rally field.  That's what rallying is all about. Self sufficiency, informality and making your own fun/entertainment with your fellow ralliers.

Somehow formality has taken over the rally scene and it now seems that nobody can go rallying now a days unless it's on a fully equipped formal campsite.

Shame really as they are missing out on what rallying is all about.

The rally group that used the field next to the CS we were on in August in Norfolk were certainly in a rally field, self sufficient and enjoying themselves, very like you describe K. 30 or so vans, gorgeous weather, shared interest, I think it was some sort
of forces reunion group. Other than noticing the odd van arrive, we neither saw nor heard them at all, not even to say hello, they were  so quiet. We had CS to ourselves!
