T'other Club's sites too expensive?
I've recently had an e-mail from the C&CC offering discounts on a number of their site throughout the year, various dates between 1st Apr to 30 Sept - 25% disc. when booking min 4 nights midweek, abd 15% disc. for 2 nights at weekends, on persons per night
fee. This would indicate to me that they have pitched their current prices too high and am finding that members are not booking pitches.

Had the same email; not surprised really, since their flexible pricing introduction I think a lot of people were put off by that.
Saying that though, having just checked availability and prices at Delamere, Braithwhaite and Clitheroe, prices haven't increased from this weekend for Easter yet, ie for this coming Sun-Weds. Much cheaper than the CC for the same dates, but that is with 20% discount for being over a certain age!! Braithwhaite for example was £55.50 for 3 nights, Delamere and Clitheroe less than that.

I do find the C&CC work out more expensive for us than CC ... for less well presented sites. So tend to limit our use of them. I guess when we tip over the over 55 point in 9 years we may take a different view!
It's 60 now I think.
We also found them to be generally more expensive. The Sandringham site was £30 more expensive for a week than the CC site.
I've just rejoined as they have a site in a location where the CC only has ASs and there are commercials that aren't too keen to accept us. I'll be doing some price comparisons today.

I too have noticed that CCC sites are not as well maintained as CC sites and the toilets on one site (Keswick) were not kept as clean. Maybe it is something to do with having site managers rather than wardens?

It seems that as the majority of sites in the cc network are running at near capacity at peak times and the ccc and other organisasions are having "sales" to try to get biusiness our club seem to have it about right,I notice that even cls are touting for easter,so it looks as if its a Quiet easter in some areas,our schools break up the friday after easter

i didnt advocate the club raising prices, i actually said the opposte.....'they have it about right'.....
yes, the market 'could' sustain prices a little higher at peak, theyre are so many members vying for a finite resource.....
however i didnt advocate the club doing this.....
..But the thought is there

Looks like a lack of bookings has prompted this as the people booking out of the high seasons are mainly older and not tied to school holidays. We get the age discount which helps give a reasonable balance between the clubs charges but the C&CCsystem makes
calculating the costs far more long winded, they do however give better family deals.0 -
I've just got back from four nights at Sandy Balls at £10 a night for a service HS pitch. The place was about 75% full. Shows that they are doing something right.

CY , As stated they will more than recoup the Loss Leader you have just enjoyed, at peak times when the majority of people have to take their breaks,even with what now seems to be a plethora of pitch "sales" to try to fill the normally exorbitant peak time prices

The site we are going to is on the list so I've cancelled and rebooked.
Hope you got a good discount Jay. We did similar a couple of years ago when they introduced a similar system. At least they did it well before the date we were going, and it was only by chance that I spotted the change in price. There was no CT giving the
heads-up in those days.
