Connecting two hook up cables

This may have been asked in the past but I had a little search and couldn't see anything.....

Anyhow...my question is this, on our latest trip to Castleton CC I had to use 2 hook up cables to reach the power point.....

On the second day there whilst I was away from the caravan my other half was approached by one of the wardens and was told that it had to be one continous cable....

I dont recall a rule on this but was hoping that one of you could enlighten me

In the end I had to get down on my hands and knees and pull one single cable underneath the caravan and through the awning to reach the powerpoint.....
