Hi Dave,
Check the aa route planner... Just google it. It gives the best route, staying on main roads.
It will be c 4 hour drive so your best stops will be Clonmel and Mallow at service stations. Will be sufficient room to pull in, refresh and take a few minutes rest.
Enjoy your trip and welcome to Ireland. Hope the weather is good for you.
Kenzo.

Simple, take the N25 from Rosslaire and when you approach Cork look out for the N22. It's a great road, new bypass around Waterford and Cork no hassle whatsoever lovely drive very good roads been doing that run for many many years. Killarney is our favourite
in the South West wished we were there now. Enjoy your holiday.0 -
If you travel from Killarney to Kenmare going solo by car is fine lovely part of the Ring of Kerry,
DO NOT tow from Killarney to Kenmare on the N71 as it is narrow in places and if you meet a coach coming in the opposite direction then you are going to have a problem with the 'van on the back. Instead take the N22 back out of Killarney towards
Cork and look out for the R569 quite a way out on your right hand side and take that route with the 'van then no problems.0 -
This is Ireland, so the best route for towing a caravan to Killarney is from Dublin!!. Longer, but very good road with lots of rest places and will just about take the same time.
Nonsense.
Why?
Because the O/P clearly states the they will be docking at Rosslare therefore to travel approximately 100 miles North in the opposite direction heading to Dublin and then travel down South West to Killarney from Dublin is madness when the route that I suggested is perfect.

The O/P stated clearly in black and white that he was after suggestions
FROM Rosslare, where does the port of Dublin over 100 mikes away come into the equation
when it was not asked for. Rosslare was clearly stated where the O/P was going to travel from? it's not rocket science.Kenzo is of a similiar opinion.
If I want to catch a train from Dover to Birmingham why start talking about another point of arrival over 100 miles away? The O/P is leaving Rosslare NOT Dublin the O/P selected Rosslare for his reasons.

Okay I'll spell it out for you. You may have noticed that there are two likes so if must have been of interest to at least two people. Anybody that tows to Killarney are not going there just for the fun of it or to spend their entire holiday sitting on a caravan site passing time waiting to go home, there is a possibility that they are going to travel around and bearing in mind how famous the Ring of Kerry is and there are some sites at various points it is always advisable to travel anti clockwise which is the way coaches travel so trying to advise caravanners not to tow from Killarney on the Ring of Kerry anti clockwise as they could very well wind up having a problem that's why I suggested the R569 route IF they intended towing to Kenmare from Killarney. It's not rocket science, if nobody intends towing anti clockwise on the Ring of Kerry then it won't affect them will it? What is wrong with passing on a bit of knowledge which could potentially be of benefit to other caravanners? with your attitude perhaps I should keep quiet and let any potential caravanners who do head for Kenmare on the Ring of Kerry wind up the river without a paddle and have potential problems instead of suggesting a perfect route for those that do want to go to Kenmare from Killarney towing, I didn't know that was a crime.
