Amazon problems

Just before we came away on holiday last Sunday, I sent a message to Amazon saying that Mrs H's FitBit had fallen apart. They replied immediately to say that they would send a replacement. Excellent!......as ever from Amazon.

The next day (Sunday) I sent them an email saying that, as we were about to go on holiday, could they deliver the replacement to our holiday site. They replied and said yes, but I needed to ring them to confirm security details.

After arriving on site, I rang them and sorted it out and they said no problem, the delivery would be on Tuesday.

Then followed a long series of phone calls and emails to tell them that their 'tracking' web site was still showing the home address and the item still hadn't arrived.

Eventually, someone rang me today (Thursday) to say that they were cancelling the original 'order' and would start again.....delivery would be on Saturday..... 2 days time.

I then received an email confirming this.....and that they were delivering to my home address!

I rang them and told them the correct address.......and they told me that delivery would now be Monday.......due to me "amending the delivery address" Yell

I said that this wasn't acceptable and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that they were all busy and one would ring me back in between 30 and 60 minutes.

2.5 hours later my phone rang -Amazon! Then rang off after about half a second, before I could get the phone out of my pocket. No message left.

Amazon used to be so good......what has happened to them??

It is a sign of the times, standards are dropping everywhere as the "accountants" take charge and cut costs to maximise profits at the  cost of the people who know their customer baseWink

Why did you want to change delivery addresses?  I'm sure you would have been home by the time they had it sorted anywayUndecided

I wonder how their new initiative Amazon Fresh will perform. It is being trialed in London first, but if successful will be rolled out over the UK.  Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's have been reported as being  "concerned".

Based on my recent experience, it won'f be very 'fresh' when it arrives.
