Been a Fly Fisherman for ovr 40 years now. I know everybody has different preferences and I personally much prefer river fishing for wild trout. There are an abundance of good trout rivers here. Anyone wishing for a change from fishing in artificially stocked
fishing ponds must come up to Bonnie Scotland and try their hand at catching trout in their natural habitat.K

can't argue with that K. Some lovely trout and grayling rivers south of the border too. Don't mind the odd afternoon or evening on the stocked still waters either but the real thing certainly is best! Even enjoyed saltwater fly fishing from the rocks of west coast of Scotland too.

How's that grandson doing? I taught my son years ago and he picked up the casting skill within an afternoon. He then found golf more appealing.
