awning, non awning pitches?

Just come back from a weekend away, now we were booked on an awning pitch,but it was explained to us the new pitch rules awning and non awning pitches. I know it is for fire safety but in my opinion it will make things more difficult to get on sites now
if you want to put up an awning.Our pitch was huge as was the next one to us but that was an none awning pitch.creating a lot of confusion with other members who wanted to pitch there but couldn't as they wanted to put up an awning.
