Proving disability - Europe

When in Europe I've been asked in several places for a disability card in order to access reduced/free entry.  Does anyone know what would be accepted?  I have a blue badge which is fine for parking but cannot find any other type of disability card available
in this country except that for people with visual problems.  To complicate matters, many places don't require anything other than seeing me on the mobility scooter.
