How to get rid of the notifications.

Recently I have been inundated with notifications of new posts to my Email address. Most forums have a way of opting out of this through the Profile area. There does not appear to be an option to do this in CT that is self evident. Can you please let me
know how stopping the notifications can be achieved. Thanks
