ATC Problems

I have a Bailey Cravan with factory fitted ATC and it will periodically fail to engage when switching on the ignition, with only the red light showing. I have resolved this by checking both 13 pin plugs on the caravan and car, checking all connections and
spraying in WD40 to protect from corrosion. Both times this has worked although I am not sure I have solved the fault but more by accident than design it has worked. Has anyone a similar experience as when I ask the dealer for advice I am told these units
never have any issues and I sould get my car checked. Any advice or suggestions welcome.
