    TW,.. the point I was trying to illustrate that many dog owners think
    their     dog is totally safe but most people ( owners and non owners) believe there is a limit to that trust.

    How many times have strange dogs have run up to myself/yourself etc and someone shouts from 50yds away 'Don't worry it won't bite!' IMO the general public should not be put in that situation.

    There are a lot of things we should be protected from Wink

    Come off it, that link was not intended to demonstrate anything other than Daily Mail sensationalism for your own purposes.

    TW, I was trying to find yesterdays DM article showing a baby lying on the tummy of a large dog and the dog licking the baby's face. The article was saying how cute but the comments were probably 80/20 saying how stupid it was. 

    If I find it later I will post it on here.

     .....You will no doubt know your pet very well but could you be 100% sure about the pet in any given situation ?.Because if he or she is not on a lead in theory you have no control at all over the dog and its this that i think
    other members of the public are concerned about especially where children are concerned.

    Yes, if I had any doubt at all, she'd be on a lead. My grand daughter is 10 months old and Molly knows her place in the pecking order ie below that of Chloe. the worse that could happen is Chloe gets a lick on the face .... what her Mum & Dad (my son) doesn't
    see ... Wink

    Thats fair comment MM  and as you say the dog knows its place but that could well have been the case in some of the horrendous and fatal incidents that have unfortunatly happened in recent years.Who knows what will happen if the dog wakes up one morning
    in a bad mood or has some sort of mental breakdown.Its that uncertainty that worries most people especially none dog owners like myself and the main reason many people are very wary of dogs off the lead especially where there are children.

    TW,..I can assure you I have absolutely no interest in numbers/colours of stars. If the star system had never been invented we would have had far less ridiculous posts (IMO of course Happy)

    It's probably as well you have no interest. When one has the same identity for years the stars mount up effortlessly. However, when there is a need to keep reinventing oneself again and again and again ad nauseam, one has to like posts for all one is worth
    in order to gain a few stars to appear to have some credibility and hope not to be seen as a complete troll. That evidently seems to be what some think.
