Gas Tanks On Euro Tunnel

We are pleased to be able to announce a change to the regulations regarding the
transport of such vehicles and write to advise you of the new arrangements.
There is a change to the regulations regarding the transport of such vehicles.
With effect from Monday 28th June Caravans, Campervans, Motorhomes and other recreational Vehicles fitted with LPG tanks for the purpose of heating, lighting, cooking or refrigeration will become eligible to use Eurotunnel service.
Customers wishing to use the service with a vehicle fitted with an LPG tank are asked to note the following conditions.
The tank must be part of the standard equipment of the vehicle.
The tank/vehicle must be fitted with a capacity gauge.
The tank must not be filled to more than 80% of its capacity.
The amount of gas carried in the tank must not exceed 73 litres or 47kg.
All valves must be in the off position.
The carriage of portable gas cylinders will still be permitted.
Customers must keep gas cylinders and their appliances switched off at all times.
No more than 50kg (maximum cylinder size 47kg) can be transported in any one vehicle.
Leaking or inadequately secured cylinders will not be accepted.
All vehicles carrying LPG under these arrangements will be inspected prior to transportation. This does not affect the current regulations regarding vehicles powered by LPG, which remain ineligible for transport with Eurotunnel.
