Recycling waste on site

When staying at M in the M last week the dustbins were marked up with the usual ,glass , non recycling etc .then the warden would collect the waste ,black bin liner for rubbish and clear bag for recycling , but then the warden threw all the bags in the same
skip , later that day the dustcart arrived and emptied the skip with all the mixed bags in to it , bursting all the bags open as the " blade" came down to compress all the waste, So what is the point of separating it in the first place?
