Choosing to ignore posts and/or posters

Question - and I'm sure the answer is "no" - but just in case - 

Is there an option to ignore - i.e. not see at all - selected posts or poster? I realise I can just skip by the threads etcI don'twant to see.

Or - an option to select which threads to see?
