Tour of France

Road Trip

We're about to embark on a three month tour of France and a couple of our routes look a bit tricky so I thought I'd ask our France experts on CT for their advice.

We're planning to go from Annecy to Nice and then onto Arles. Does anyone have any route suggestions? 

Also, does anyone have any experience of Arles and a view on it's suitability as a base for the surrounding area or any suggestions for alternatives, including specific sites if you have them.
