Caen to Portsmouth Overnight Stops

I know that there is a campsite close to Caen that is convenient for an overnight stop when you arrive in France. But looking at the ferry timetable for the dates we are thinking of for our return it would appear that we would need to leave forementioned
campsite very early in the morning or would need an overnight stop close to Portsmouth with a very late arrival.Would be grateful to hear from anyone who knows if the French site is amenable to very early departures and/or can recommend a CL or campsite close
to Portsmouth that will allow late arrivals. Thanks!
