Drive away awning or fixed awning?

I have a fiamma 45 wind out awning on my motorhome. I have spent hours trying to find information about the differences between a fixed and drive away awning. I want to be able to sit outside with my large dog when the weather is not so good. I don't understand
how the driveway awning would fit on my motorhome. Would I leave my wind out awning in with a drive away awning or does it attach in some way or am I getting confused Is it just the fixed awning that attaches. Which is better,which is lighter and which is
the easiest to put up. Any help or advice would be great, so many to choose from.
