A French route?

After our Eurotunnel we will be staying at 'Neufchatel en Bray' for two nights to get our bearings.
We will then be heading down towards 'Nantes' and was wondering what you think of this route missing out 'Rouen' altogether. Thinking of going west on the D929 to 'Yvetot' then south and crossing the 'Seine', then hopefully take a non toll (D438 maybe) towards 'Nantes' via 'Laval'.
Does this sound feasible ?
