How often do you renew your water filter?

My caravan has a Whale water pump and the pipe that goes into the Aquaroll has a filter on its end unlike the systen that Carver used, which had a submersible pump. The instructions for the Whale filter say that it should be replaced after 30 days use.
Does anyone actually do that?
