Overnight from Caen

Am looking to travel through Caen to the Vendee, ferry docks at 21:45, are the Aires ok for a overnight on the A84

    Some say yes, some say no...but with campsites near the Caen ferry port open for arrivals at that time in an evening most people call it a day and stay there.

    Strongly recommend that you do as Eurotraveller suggests. I have used that crossing countless times, and that site just on the `Southern outskirts of Oistreham is very good.  As already commented they specifically stay open late so as to accomodate tourists coming off that ferry.  I also use them when catching the early morning ferry on the return trip.

    The use of that site allows a good worry free nights sleep prior to perhaps a long tow the next day.  Aires can be dangerous, you have very little protection due to their remoteness.
