Travelling to the Vendee

Hi, We are going to the Vendee (Mothe Au Chard) and are going via one of the Dover Calais crossings. We plan to stop about halfway, probably between Rouen and Alencon along the A28. I've looked at the Club sites in the region and there don't seem to be any
in a convenient spot. Can anyone recommend a stop over along the way?
