I now no longer seem to be getting E-mails informing me of latest the posts that are being made on discussions that I ticked to follow.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Are you sure you have clicked on the "follow this discussion" tab at the top of each thread you want to follow? You have to be logged in to do this!

Also, if a thread is closed, not sure if this still works, so best check thread is still open. If it is a lively discussion, you will get pings every few minutes! So much so, that I never press "follow"!Laughing

Do you know whether there are new posts in the discussion you are interested in? I think there may have been a problem recently with this function but I thought it had been resolved. Could you try a different discussion to see if that works so we can narrow
    it down?

Thank you for your interest and desire to help, it is appreciated.

The ‘Follow this Discussion’ tab is set on more than one discussion and was working OK until today.

None of the discussions are marked closed.

Yes!  new posts have been made in these discussions including this particular one and that is definitely set to ‘Follow this discussion’ but I have had to trawl to see your further posts.

I have already tried different discussions that have also had further posts added, but to no avail.

If it’s a Forum glitch then I am sure it will be sorted but it’s odd that others don’t seem to be having this problem.

Thanks for getting back on this. I have alerted admin to see if there is a broader problem. I tend not to use the option myself so no personal experience.

I don't use this feature and suspect some others on CT don't either.  I did at first, but found I was getting so many emails, I couldn't see the wood for the trees so to speak.  So I stopped using it; I just have a look at posts which I've contributed to and any new ones which interest me; if you log on again all threads will show, in red, how many new posts in a particular thread have been posted since your previous log on.  I find that a useful feature to see if there are any new posts in a thread I'm interested in.

JCB, I used it on this thread O/night to check it, there have been 3posts since I looked in yesterday, I got no alerts at all. From my point of view-it ain't working for me. PS-I have used it in the past to good effect so I know it's worked at some point.

I have had this problem too. Still use it but another way you can use if you have replied to a post is look at "My Posts" in the far right hand column. You can then look back at your previous posts.

    Harry

I agree "My Posts" is an easy alternative to following a discussion. I wonder if some prefer not to log on to the forum to see what is going on but only come on here once they know someone has made a reply to one of their posts?

Just tried using the facility again after a trip and found it is not working for me either.

I see Rochelle reported it four days ago so if CC Ltd IT are working at what seems to be their normal speed perhaps we should not expect to see a fix any time this year.

I clicked to follow the A1 North post as I'm heading that way on Aug bank holiday. There have been 3 posts today and I haven't received one email alert

Further to that, I have replied to the post "Cycles on site" and clicked the follow button. There have been well over 100 replies since and I haven't had one notification (perhaps just as well). So the problem is still with us

Not sure about "Wider problem RochelleCC but it's certainly turning into a longer problem than I expected. Are they any nearer to a solution or are all the IT bods away enjoying the sun?

This post has now been running for 3 weeks

A similar post has been closed and diverted here. That post was started in Feb 2012 and was to do with the same problem.

Just wondering how long HQ require to fix  problem.

    Over to you Rochelle

I do  find it very disappointing when a request in a post that asks for a reply from HQ appears to be ignored.
