Solar panel connection

I have aquired a 2.4 watt solar panel which I wish to use to trickle charge my Lunar Quasar caravan during the winter. It is supplied with a 'cigar plug' male connector. Rather than making a direct connection to the battery is it in order to connect to the
12v socket within the van?
Alternatively do Lunar provide a separate lead which will allow connection into it to feed the battery?
