Aluminium warning board for Italy

Do you really need one of these for Italy? we are thinking of going next year with our M/H, we will be carrying bikes on the rack at the rear of the M/H. We believe Italy requires the board to be Aluminium, not the normal plastic ones used in other European
countries. Has anyone any experiance of travelling in Italy. your comments would be welcome.
