Issue with water pump - please help!!!!

Hi - I've just bought a 1997 Garland 165-4, we've never "caravaned" before and so are trying it out. We're going away in it tomorrow morning so I have been sorting out the loo, gas, etc. I have an Aquaroll and pump, I've filled it with water, the whale pump is in it, I turn the pump on inside the caravan and all the water seems to leak out from the the drain area - I have put the plug in the waste pipe - there is a dribble of water that comes through the shower and taps but the water goes down so quickly as the pump is doing overtime. Please can anyone help?
