Towing with 1.4TSI Skoda Octavia

Does anyone else tow with this petrol model. Currently tow an old 2 berth Swift with a low nett wt of 790kgs. Pulls this okay, but would like to upgrade slightly. The cars kerbweight is 1235kgs, and whenever travelling we tend to put most things in our car,
to reduce wt. Working on 85%, should be able to pull 1050kgs. Have seen a few vans around 915kgs unloaded, and wonder if I would notice much difference in towing these.

    The car is regarded as a good stable tow car and should be safe with the weight you suggest. The power to weight ratio looks low so it might struggle a bit but assuming the cars legal towing limit is higher than the proposed caravan weight it should manage.
