Towing with a Skoda Octavia Petrol

Looking to purchase a Skoda Octavia Petrol engine, hatchback or estate, abour 3-4 yrs old. Can anyone offer any feedback, relating to towing capabilities. Appreciate diesel are preferable for towing, but have been advised, not to consider due to my low annual
milage, and mainly short journeys. This would give problems with a diesel fuel filter.
