Fixed townbars and reversing sensors

I have just bought a Ford Mondeo Zetec 63 plate and am looking for a towbar. The witter site says fixed towbars can activate the reversing sensors. The two central most sensors look to be a fair distance apart in relation to the tow bar position. Has anyone
experience of this, especially on the car I've bought.
