Portsmouth - Caen Reserved Seating

Going out a week Sunday and looking at the Brittany web site see that there is a supplement for seating in the forward lounge. It is a while since we have been this route and on the three previous occasions we have never paid. Not sure whether we should
have , we just walked in and sat down.

Anybody else have experience of this

Wait and see how things are when you are on board. If it's crowded go to the reception desk and pay for a seat in the quiet lounge. If it's rough weather go to reception and pay for a day cabin and lie down. Or just go to reception and ask what time the smart restaurant opens for dinner. Bon voyage.

We came over on that route a fortnight ago and there were about seven of us sitting in the reserved lounge at the front. Needless to say none of us had paid! However I have reserved seats for when we come over in August just in case.

It was very crowded and noisy when we did the crossing last Sunday. Seemed to be lots of coaches transporting French seniors, not many of us caravaners at all, 4 vans at the most.

Seem to recall the seats being free of charge when we did this route 20 years ago.

We travel with Brittany twice a year June and September there is always so much seating can`t see much point in paying  extra for that particular lounge.
