Trading in your caravan

We are considering buying a new Elddis caravan and have had discussions with a dealer close to home. Although the actual offer seems OK a couple of things don't really seem right to me and I wonder if a similar situation has happened with you.

They told us that the new van would be ordered then and delivered mid to late Nov. However, they are insistent that we give our van up to them next weekend if we agree to the deal. Is this normal? I'm a little unhappy in giving them our van to sell when we haven't got our new van off them, especially when they have a 2016 model on the forecourt and seem reluctant to let us have that one straight away. What happens if they go bust in the meantime?
