Hi, we are taking a year out of working and starting with 4 months in Europe in our new motorhome (and our dog).  We are planning to go to the south of France, north of Spain and Italy, plus southern Germany.

We will be back to Austria in February for skiing.

I am getting confused as to whether I should buy a ACSI and / or CCI card - any views?

Also, any other tips for us newbees would be appreciated!  We are planning to do some wild camping / aires, to keep the costs down but will use sites more often and we aren't planning to book - are we mad?

Thanks all!

You can't book motorhome Aires, but if you are going straight the south of France at the start of your holiday in July/August you will already be already too late to book at many popular  coastal sites - they will be fully booked now I'm afraid. Inland it will be easier, Take a phone and call ahead to sites if you are in busy areas.

Yes, get the ACSI card though it will be of little help until the second half of your tour when discounts bcome available.

    No, you are not mad.

There are 2 ACSI cards, the one you really want is the Camping Card ACSI, which gives low season discounts.

The ACSI ID is a similar purpose card to the CCI one, there is aso Camping Key Europe which you get "free" if you take out Red Pennant insurance.
