French Caravan Site Pool Attire

Hi

While reading the caravan Europe France & Andorra Guide 2014. I have come across a section on the
"ban of boxer style swimming shorts in and around pools & brief style swin shorts must be worn", on page 108...! Is this really true???

I can't beleive such a rule is enforced in modern europe...
