Insurance & Documents when touring in France

We are touring France for the first time in our caravan. Please could i get some advice on what I all need to take with me. Is it right I need to take the following:

MOT/Car Insurance certificates,Driving Licence, European Kit (hi-viz vests/breathalysers etc).

We have standard travel insurance through our bank and have European breakdown cover.

I read somewhere something about a 'green card' document regarding the caravan. Has anyone heard of this before?

Any tips or guidence on anything I need to take or extra insurance required would be appreciated.
