Awning draft skirt

On hard standing pitch what do you use to  peg down the ground sheet and the awning draught skirt , as the domed plastic pegs will not knock into the hard surface?

My dog keeps escaping under the skirt... And I've stubbed my toes on pegs that stick up?.
