wellI dislike this as well. Wish it was an option. Only the lower specifed vans seem to have the option now.

Another vote for the older design. I value the front locker space more than a window that goes up into the roof.

We had a Bailey Unicorn Series 1 which we would have swapped for the same but disliked the Series 2 for a number of reasons with the huge window being a main dislike. We have now ordered a new van, a Lunar, and will be losing the front lockers but, much
as we will miss them, as has been said in the vans we were considering this was the norm.0 -
I can't help wondering how well they'll fare in years to come - whether they'll become brittle or leak.
I'd rather have the front lockers.

We don't like them either. Yet another possible water ingress area. Although we have a large van we like the head high lockers at the front.

I hate them, and I can't imagine how awful they must beon French campsites where the sun shines more often and is usually VERY VERY hot. This huge window must make the caravan very unpleasantly overheated.
In hot weather, in France, we have the Heki's wide open but with the black flyscreens across, and all the windows open, but this huge window would be a real problem.
My opinion is that manufacturers need to think again about maximising light and offer this as an option for those who caravan in hotter countries.

Not a caravan but Bailey have now installed these big windows in their Motorhome cabs, loosing 4 very good overhead lockers, the 2 side ones are now cubby holes and the 2 middle ones have gone altogether. Our first edition version doesn't have one but all
the latest models do. Personally I wouldn't want one I'd rather have the lockers. When looking at caravans awhile back we were inside a coachman (I think) I stood at the front of the van looking out wondering if I liked the idea or not, then bent down to look at the slide out table between the front seats, BANG my forehead hit the shelf
that sticks out across the front of the van. I had a massive bump on my forehead which was sore for days, would I have one of these vans not on you nellie.0 -
Only if punters are daft enough to buy them.

It must be to save weight and properly money as the most people I talk to don't like them vanroyce still make twin wheel without the big windows

I never liked them. When we site the van we normally try to face north anyway. We like sun in the offside in a morning and door side in the afternoon. With the rear to the South there are no windows at the back.
Oddly enough we try to face South to get the sun but find the normal windows are enough for us.

Can't see that, as looking at most new vans the windows, apart fron this front one, seem to be getting smaller and smaller. Perhaps these are to provide extra daylight to those vans that have huge blank walls, such as those behing the fixed beds.

I don't like this window arrangement either. One of the reasons we bought a Coachman Vision. No 'big' window, but a good Heiki skylight in the top of the van. It still makes for a light and airy 'van, without having direct sunlight in your eyes
