Advice for an "over-nighter" near

Any advice welcome please - we are fairly new to caravanning and are embarking on our first trip overseas this summer. I have booked the LDLines ferry to Santander but as this does not come into port until 19.00hrs, we will probably need to find a site to stay in overnight 'en-route' to our site north of Biaritz. I do not want to stay in Santander itself as I would like to get an hour or so up the road first. Equally, I do not want to go on too much of a diversion. Can anyone please therefore help with something around say Bilbao?

 

Also, any other general advice would be very welcome on our maiden foreign trip.
