Lost steady pads

Just a short tale of the lost steady pads, on arrival home from a great holiday in France I went to put down the back steadys and saw that both pads were missing, these had been held on with their pins and extra plastic ties, both had been there in the morning
when leaving overnight site and only time van was left was on the ferry I cannot think someone would steal just 2 pads. can anyone help solve this mystery
