Advice needed re' caravan round Perth

We are sitting here outline planning our longest ever trip, to Scotland.  Nearly did it a couple of years ago and then the fuel prices reached the levels that we are now used to  .We need to find a CL midway between Berwick on Tweed and Fortrose, not too
far off the route, shouldn't be too much of a problem.

But, my wife seems to remember (I don't) that driving round Perth was a nightmare and that was only driving the car.

Is Perth a problem?  I can't see a way round it.
