Distance between caravans on site

Recently stayed at a 5 van site , but was concerned that another caravan was pitched approx two and a half metres away from us. Apart from the privacy aspect felt there was a safety risk (i.e. fire ).We liked the site and would like to return so we didnt
raise the issue with the owners who are very nice. Were we wrong to chicken out ?
