Maps in Europe

Hello, we are taking the Van to Europe.  Belgium, Germany,  Italy and France.  What are the best maps to use please?

    I use the Michelin range of road atlas and they do them for all the countries mentioned.

    It's a matter of personal preference.  I find the Hallwag range easier to use than the Michelin ones, probably because I'm more used to them. Marco Polo market very detailed road maps too.

    It's good to hear that maps are still being used. I'd be lost without the Sat Nav in towns and cities (in more ways than one) but I find route planning is so much more enjoyable with a paper map.

    We always use Michelin and for Austria and Germany the ADAC Maps we get free as Members.

    For France I prefer the IGN (like Ordnance Survey) series as I find them clearer than Michelin.

    AA do a good road atlases of France based on the IGN mapwork - they're 3 miles to inch, clear and cheap - often available from The Works.

    Write your comments here...Wherenext if you email this lady she will post them to you. ann-katri.zintl@sby.adac.de  give her your membership number.  They are the paper maps of Germany and Austria.  There is whole of Germany ask what Regions the others are
    have not got mine to hand.

    Then there is Austria and others are in Regions.
