Weather and Camping Report from the Côte d’Azur
We’re at La Croix Valmer in the Var department of the Côte d’Azur. The weather here for campers is excellent with day-time temperatures in the mid to high twenties. There’s a bit of an easterly breeze which is cooling things down a bit, but it’s still ok
for t-shirts and shorts: lots of sunshine with the occasional cloud, but put on an extra layer in the evening for the bbq.
The sea is a bit choppy and the beaches are bit windy for sunbathing; however, there’s a heated outdoor pool at Camping Sélection so Cath’s happy.
When we arrived on Tuesday we had a choice of pitches, but the site is now filling up. The French are making a long weekend out of today’s holiday ( Ascension) by taking Friday off, so there have been quite
a few arrivals today. The mobilhomes are filling up as well.
Another reason is that Camping de la Baie at Cavalaire is full ( no more bookings for June), as we found out when we tried to book a pitch yesterday for two weeks hence. We were told that several campsites
in the region were still closed after winter flooding. We’re here for a week and then we’re going to our ‘secret’ campsite, near le Lavandou, which has become so popular that we now have to book.
ACSI discount runs until the 30th June, and the free buses ( Navette d’Été) start on Sunday, so come on down – the
weather forecast is looking good.
