Have just stayed at Camping Les Epinettes
http://www.lesepinettes.fr/?lang=en 4 miles from Tunnel. What a find. For years we have been going to Ben Assie in Guines, Price for 1 night stay would be around €37 at Les Epinttes €15.50. this is a very pleasant site, just 1 mile from the a16 The site
is extremelly well kept and a very pleasant owner. If you book in advance,he will place a reserved board on the pitch with your name on it. Wish i had found this site before. Will definetly use it on journeys to and from Europe.

It's a site I've been recommending for quite a few years now whenever anyone asks about a site close to either the tunnel or Calais.  But Bien Assise seems to be recommended far more for some reason.  We've stayed there just once many years ago and didn't rate it at all; apart from it being much more expensive we found Les Epinettes quieter and always stay there on the first and last night of our trips to France.  Stayed there earlier this month on the way back home and will be there again at the end of August when we go again.  The price outside of July and August is 1 Euro cheaper than farmhouse quoted.

It's also got a very extensive library where we swap books!

Good recommendation. We usually stay an hour or two from Calais but good to have a site near to the tunnel. How large is the site; do they get full?

We stayed at Bien Assise this year but it's never been a favourite. Too big and too English for us. Of course, we would only go there during the ACSI season otherwise the price is outrageous.

If it is the same site I am thinking of, a bit further along the same road is Les  Erables 10.40 a night without electric. On a clear day you can see the white cliffs from most pitches
