How do you get them out of the ground?

I bought a nice plastic case containing 20 hard ground pro awning pegs. They look like huge nails with a plastic hook at the end. If I hammer them into the hard standing to secure the awning, how the heck do you remove them? Is
there a special tool to prise them out of the ground?
