12 volt fuse rating

I recently plugged in a 12 volt tyre inflater to a 12 volt socket in the van as I couldn't get the car near enough. On switching it on the aux 10 amp fuse on the van blew. Given that the cigar lighter fuse in a car is usually a 15 or 20 amp fuse can anyone
advise if I would have any problems if I changed the 10 amp fuse on the van to a one of a higher rating?

The van is a Bailey Unicoen Valencia S3.
