East of Paris on the N104
On a Thusday on our way back from Gien in the Loire valley to Eperlercques we decided for a change to come round Paris via the east side on the N104 outer ring road. This is the first time we have came this way as we usually go back around Chartres etc. I will never do this route again unless absolutely necessary. It was a nightmare. Heavy traffic, and a road traffic accident (not us) caused tailbacks of biblical proportions. In the first two hours we travelled 103 miles. In the next hour we travelled....ziltch. Total time of journey was nearly seven hours and 42 euros on tolls (car and caravan). Yes the route was sixty miles shorter than going around Chartres but I think I will stick to the tried and tested route in future or maybe I will go to Peronne from Gien and sweep out further east. Be warned.
