BURGUNDY ROUTE FROM CALAIS

We are spending 2 weeks in Burgundy, at Arnay-le-Duc, in June. From Calais we plan to take the A26 south as far as Troyes, and would then like to go across country to pick up the A6 and head towards Beaune. There seem to be several possible routes to choose
from. Does anyone have any experience of this journey, and what would you advise? Any suggestions would be very welcome.
