Annecy to Albertville

We are staying at Le Taillefer at the south end of Lake Annecy for a few days at the beginning of June before heading down to Les Pecheurs, near Roquebrune, in the Var. Does anyone know anything about the road from Annecy to Albertville? It seems to be the
most direct route, but is it suitable for a medium sized outfit (Galaxy & Sterling europa 545)? Or would it be better to go back to Annecy and pick up the Autoroute south from there?
