It would appear we have a number of dissatisfied Modus customers out there!



We are about to celebrate our 50th year in the awning manufacturing business during which time we have gained an enviable reputation for both quality and customer care. This is not something we wish to lose.



We cannot comment on individual members issues as we do not know from the community info who they are, nor can we comment on any of our retailers actions or their relationship with any member suffice it to say, the name that keeps cropping up in discussion
have dealt with us for many, many years, they have a well trained and extremely knowledgeable staff and are very successful.



What we can comment and advise on is Modus!



This awning is now in its second year of production. During that time there have been several revisions within its design and anyone experiencing problems with an early model that have contacted us have been asked to allow us to collect their awning to adopt
the various revisions.



I appreciate that many members will be reluctant to contact us directly as they do not wish to compromise their rights as a consumer. Those members should be assured that this would not be the case.



Modus was thoroughly tested prior to production commencing. The first prototypes were erected outside the factory for over a year during which time they experienced what was the worst winter weather we had seen for many years. We were very impressed with the
performance.



The modular design, whilst ground breaking in awning terms, does make it rather confusing and difficult to erect at the first time of asking. The principal is completely different to any awning we have ever produced. Seasoned caravanners struggle with it far
more than a novice does. Habits carried forward from previous conventional awnings confuse so it is better to start from scratch. Once you know the routine it is very easy to erect indeed.
