Which Ferry?

Hi wondered if anyone could give me some advice. I went to the caravan show last week in Birmingham and went to one of the stands advertising their campsite in a place called Carlucet which is in the Dordogne area. Its called Chateau de Lacombe, it looks
really nice, anyway my question is we live in berkshire , would it be better to go from Portsmouth or Dover? We would like to get there sooner than later (not too bothered about tolls). We wondered also whether there was a lot of difference in the price. Sorry
