Mosquitos

Hi can anyone advise me. Im not sure what pitch to choose at a campsite someone told me if we have one near to a river or trees we are more likely to experience mosquitos. But if l pitch on a unshaded spot wont that be too hot as we are going this mid
August. Im afraid whenever l go abroad l seem to be a magnet for those little things. This is our first time abroad in a caravan. Thanks   Sue
